Samsung Rolls Out the Fourth Beta for One UI 8 to the S25 Ultra

Samsung’s story with Android 15 was extremely messy, but thankfully, that’s all over, and we can put it in the past. Android 16 has already come out, and Samsung was quick to get One UI 8 ready and released it with the Galaxy Z devices that came out earlier this month. Now, we can all sit and wait for One UI 8 to come to older eligible devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, quite naturally, is the first in line. The smartphone has already started receiving beta updates for the OS, and today, Samsung has rolled out the One UI 8 Beta 4 update. It brings quite a few fixes, offering a much-improved experience compared to before.

If you’re rocking a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, then you’re in a lucky position. You have what is arguably the most capable phone in Samsung’s arsenal (yes, even more so than the Z Fold 7), and with that comes the privilege of Samsung waiting on you like the premium customer that you are. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is first in line for One UI 8 (after the devices that launched with it), and today, Beta 4 started rolling out to users in the US.

This beta update is a pretty chunky one, weighing in at about 1.2GB, so you’ll want to have Wi-Fi handy before you start to update.

One UI 8 Beta Version Date
Beta 1 May 28th, 2025
Beta 2 June 12th, 2025
Beta 3 June 30th, 2025
Beta 4 July 30th, 2025

The big question on the lips of many Galaxy S25 Ultra owners is whether the fourth beta will end up being the final beta for One UI 8. If it is, it means that the next thing they can expect is the stable release. However, there’s no word on whether there’s another update to be expected, but I hope that the answer is negative.

The One UI 8 Beta 4 update is large because it brings a lot of improvements. However, most of them focus on fixing existing bugs and issues. This isn’t the update to go crazy over if you’re more into new features and the like. However, it does add an emergency update feature for the Samsung IMS service, as well as full-screen switching when watching videos in Samsung DeX.

But since the bug fixes are the bulk of One UI 8 Beta 4, let’s take a look at what is getting fixed in this update:

  • Fixed an issue with Galaxy AI Reply Suggestions
  • Fixed an issue when triggering Bixby routines with voice commands
  • Fixed a display issue with the quick launch icons on the lock screen
  • Fixed an issue when editing iNavi dashcam videos in Gallery
  • Fixed an issue with “Fingerprint sensor not responding” appearing on the lock screen
  • Fixed a flickering issue with the vertical and horizontal level markets when switching from the selfie camera to the rear camera
  • Fixed an issue with Swipe to Call from Contacts when TalkBack is on
  • Improved software stability in multiple apps
