‘Bring Them Down’ is probably one of the best films I’ve ever seen. A brutal and believable examination of old family grudges in rural communities. Superbly shot. Sharp and to the point. As beautiful a piece of art as it is a moral reminder of how anger can lose everyone the battle.

I am a huge sucker for rural grudge match films and this hits all the notes. I've seen some critisicm about this film losing momentum, but fro my experience growing up around farms, thats entirely realistic to the way these kinds of things play out. Violence and generational antagonism end with regret and a dull thud, not explosions and winners.

This, combined with last years King Tide has me feeling spoilt and hopeful that real film making will continue despite the trouble we face.

Anybody got any recommendations of films with similar themes?
