Clever ‘Saw’ Spin on Real Estate Scammers – ‘Twisted’ Horror Trailer

“Have you noticed anything unusual in the neighborhood in the past couple of days?” Paramount Movies has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror thriller creation called Twisted, a sort-of-Saw kind of concept but with a few grisly twists of its own. Alas it’s being sent out to watch direct-to-VOD only right at the start of February in a few more weeks. From the director of Saw II, Saw III, & Spiral, a con artist’s real estate scam unravels into a nightmare when she’s captured by a surgeon with a terrifying plan. The story follows two millennials who flip NY apartments they don’t own to new buyers who don’t know they are being scammed. The con works brilliantly until they run into an owner who flips the game on them and locks them up. This stars Djimon Hounsou, Lauren LaVera, Mia Healey, with Neal McDonough and Alicia Witt. This looks like it gets brutal! What is he going to do to their brains now that he caught them?! Freaky.

Twisted is directed by American genre filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman, of the films Identity Lost, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Mother’s Day, 11-11-11, The Devil’s Carnival, The Barrens, Abattoir, St. Agatha, Death of Me, the recent Saw spin-off Spiral, and The Cello horror most recently. The screenplay is co-written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer. Produced by Mark Burg, Lee Nelson, & David Tish. Republic Pictures releases Bousman’s Twisted movie direct-to-VOD starting February 6th, 2026 coming up. Who wants to watch?
